Stop the Metropolitan Water District’s scheme to soak taxpayers!

Proposal would give many employees a payout of over $100,000 A YEAR upon retirement

MWD serves customers across southern California, so if you live in southern California this affects YOU!

There are 40 MWD retirees already receiving pensions of at least $100,000 – under the current gold-plated pension plan offered by MWD according the California Foundation for Fiscal Responsibility.  This proposal makes an extravagant taxpayer-funded giveaway even worse with a 25% retroactive pension increase.

Right now, Metropolitan Water District is in the middle of a two-year 31% rate hike.

§        MWD employees contribute NOTHING for their pension benefits.

§        They also don’t pay for social security.

§        Up until now, they’ve paid NOTHING for retiree health benefits.

§        The pension hike increases unfunded pension liabilities by over $70 million on top of a $400 million unfunded liability caused by market losses.

When regular Californians struggle to get by, we must send a message to the MWD that we refuse to finance lives of luxury for retired government employees.

Take Action!
