No New Taxes is a Project of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.  HJTA has been leading the California Tax Revolt since Howard and Estelle Jarvis passed Proposition 13 in 1978.

NNT began in 1992 to fight for taxpayers at the ballot box.  We are the campaign committee that recently led the successful effort to defeat Proposition 1A.  While we defeated the massive Prop. 1A tax increase, the real problems remain: the politicians continue to spend billions more than they take in.

As revenues, adjusted for population and inflation, have continued to grow, the quality of services we receive has declined.  We are now suffering from decades of near-criminal mismanagement of our state - massive waste, fraud and abuse, a bloated state government filled with overpaid bureaucrats, unionized state workers who demand and receive compensation packages, paid for by taxpayers, that are far in excess of what workers in the private sector earn, and politicians who are unwilling to exercise any self control when it comes to spending.

We are not going anywhere.  We will keep the pressure up on the Sacramento tax and spend establishment.  Taxpayers must demand accountability from those who spend our money.

In the weeks ahead, expect us to begin releasing proposals to get our state back on track.  What our state desperately needs is real budget reform, not the phony tax-increasing "reform" from the Yes on 1A campaign's ironically named committee, "Budget Reform Now."
